WHERE ART MEETS CRAFT
Fighting Dragons & Calmer Chameleon
These pieces were part of a project to make a puzzle of closely interlocking pieces using water jet cutting technology. The two pieces were designed using AutoCAD and were decorated differently using fused glass elements, sandblasting, and engraving.
'Fighting dragons' contains two Chinese dragons fighting over the pearl of wisdom.
Chameleons get stressed and camouflage themselves in their environment. Since this chameleon is visible it is appropriately named 'Calmer Chameleon'.
I based my BA Hons Glass & Ceramics dissertation on how technology has changed the skillset of glass artists and this can be viewed here.
