Anthropocene: History Repeating
This artwork is based on the repetition of historical events, comparing them to the present day.
Cave wall drawings depict a story recorded by people of the past documenting the demise of the Mayan Civilisation and are based on real facts.
A lot of the problems they encountered and created are present today including deforestation, water pollution, drought, overpopulation, disease, war, resource shortages, and climate change. Today’s problems also include air pollution, flooding, wild fires, and extinction of flora and fauna.
Hopefully one day we will learn from the mistakes of the past and make a better future.
